Don’t let the straight razors and hot shaving creams fool you. Downtown’s new AlphaMale, tailored for men, gives the old-fashioned barbershop concept a 21st century makeover. Clients are afforded complimentary beer and wine, stylish barber chairs rigged with massage rollers, HDTV screens embedded into mirrored partitions and free wi-fi. The interior design is decidedly masculine, boasting a gray-and-black color scheme with stone-laid walls and high ceilings. Services include haircuts, manicures, pedicures, shaves, waxes and shoeshines. Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
