Wine, farm-fresh food and more wine set the mood at Decanter, a sleekly designed bar and restaurant in Rancho Santa Fe, opened recently by local sommelier Jayson Knack. The surrounding hills and bucolic setting are a perfect come-on for Knack’s coveted wine list, overflowing with more than 200 labels available by the glass or bottle. Nearby Chino Farm supplies many of the ingredients seen in Chef Geoffrey Yahn’s menu of American classics prepared with modern twists. All combined, and especially when consumption occurs under the sun on Decanter’s 3,500-square-foot outdoor patio, the experience feels pure Napa Valley.
