Kicking the Plastic Bag Habit

San Francisco’s year-old ban on plastic bags in grocery stores has cut use by 5 million plastic bags per month. Now Julia Brownley, (D-Santa Monica) has proposed a new bill (AB 68) to take this trend statewide. Californians Against Waste, a non-profit environmental research and advocacy organization, is a great resource to track the movement of this bill and other environmental concerns through the state legislature.
