During difficult financial times everyone is looking for ways to cut spending, but depriving ourselves of our favorite luxuries may also starve our spirit and make hard times feel even harsher. Before you slash your gym membership as part of your savings plan, remind yourself that exercise is a necessity, rather than a luxury. And if you are a gregarious person, substituting a solitary run or walk isn’t going to work for your well-being in the long-term. Exercise groups, such as a running or hiking club, may be a palatable option.
