Making Wise Choices During the Holidays

The holidays are no time to go off course when it comes to good nutrition. All those extra treats and that party food can do quite a number on your waistline. So it’s good to exercise caution during the holiday months. Here are a few tips to ensure you’ll look as good as you do now, after.
• Don’t go to a party on an empty stomach! Snack on foods containing protein or complex carbohydrates. These types of food take longer to digest, and will give you that feeling of satisfaction so you don’t go crazy at the buffet.
• Choose the lesser of two evils when it comes to alcohol. Choose diet cola as your mixer instead of regular, or light beer over regular. Stick with white wines, and make it a spritzer. Sneak a glass of water in between drinks.
• Load up on fruit, veggies, and protein at holiday dinner parties. That way, you’ll have less room for those decadent desserts.
